A Shattered Mosaic

Spoken Word£1260 mins

A Shattered Mosaic is an autobiographical one-woman show from poet-playwright Jess Clark, told in rhymed poetry. It weaves together spoken word and theatre, mapping how a self is constructed, broken apart, and rebuilt while navigating early adulthood. A young(ish) woman collects shards of memories from different poems, each offering a glimpse of formative life experiences. From sweating freshers’ week nightclubs to the beaches of Koh Phangan – by way of dodgy boyfriends and jobs in stretched social care systems – this dizzying, lyrical journey explores the complexity of growing up in recent years. Fusing personal history with the shifting political climate of 2015-2025, A Shattered Mosaic stands as a love letter to poetry, art and the human ability to change direction when life doesn’t go as planned. From a mess of broken shards, can a decade where nothing feels linear still be made into something whole? A must-watch for anyone who has ever questioned societal norms, had a bit of a breakdown, found a home in creativity, or chatted shit at 5 am after a line too many.
