Abigail is a one-act monologue play by Nelma Vapaa-Jää that reimagines the relationship between Abigail Williams and John Proctor from Arthur Miller's The Crucible. The play offers a raw and unflinching exploration of Abigail's inner world. Through a series of confessions, reflections, and justifications, Abigail confronts the complex emotions and traumatic experiences that shaped her actions during the Salem witch trials. The play delves deep into themes of power, fear, love, and sexual assault, challenging both historical and contemporary perceptions of victims and perpetrators. Abigail invites the audience to reconsider how stories of sexual violence are told and understood, both in the past and today. The play highlights the ongoing struggle for victims to have their voices heard and their pain acknowledged in a world that often prefers to dismiss or vilify them. Nelma Vapaa-Jää, the creator and performer of Abigail, is a 28-year-old actor from Finland. Nelma graduated from the MFA Acting International course from East 15 Acting School in 2024. She is currently based in London and representing herself. She wants to create art that touches you and makes you think. Finland has a strong theater tradition and there are 73 professional theaters in Finland. Nelma draws from both Finnish and English traditions when creating theatre.

Our show tells a completely improvised story, BACKWARDS! It’s an improvised play that starts at the end and ends at the start! With just a single word of inspiration taken from the audience, the show starts with the final scene of the story and the performers work backwards from there to find out what happened before that, and before that, and so on. With each preceding scene exploring what caused that final (first!) scene to be. Each new scene jumps back in time; sometimes by a little, sometimes by a lot, and in each new scene you will discover a new element of the tale, bit by bit piecing together how the story came together so that, by the end, everything has become clear! Once the story has gone all the way back to the start, the show then crescendos, going back to that first (final!) scene to see it again in a whole new light, having now experienced all the parts of the story that lead up to this moment. From discovering why a bride ran out on her wedding, to finding out why that deranged man murdered all those people, we guarantee you’ll laugh along at every step of the journey!

Scratch nights are designed to provide a low-pressure, welcoming platform for writers, directors, performers, and creatives to showcase new, rough, or experimental work. If you are a performer, director, or writer, these events are heavily focused on creating community and creating work with other artists. For an audience, it is a great opportunity to provide feedback to help with the progression and growth of the work, network with artists and immerse yourself in the London Art Bar's beautiful community vibe. We both started stand up comedy at the same time 4 years ago and have been honing our craft independently for that time and are now coming together to bring one show. We will be doing a set each of our own stand up material and a section where we will be doing a double act and interacting with the audience. It's a unique show brought by two people who look the same.

This August, internationally acclaimed actor and director Mehmet Ali Nuroğlu brings his visceral, high-intensity solo performance Dünyada to Camden Fringe. Reimagining Will Eno’s celebrated monologue Title and Deed, the production arrives in London fresh from Istanbul’s underground theatre scene, offering an evocative exploration of migration, identity drift, and the fragile necessity of being witnessed in a digital age. Dünyada, meaning “in the world”, is a formally adventurous solo theatre that tears the fabric of one-person play through cinematic camera work, visual extension and sound design. Nuroğlu performs a dual role as both actor and live cinematographer, walking the thin line between the mundane duties of keeping things going and the emotional disorder of remembering (like all of us). In a raw, technical struggle, he manages lighting and soundscapes in real-time, creating a parallax between his physical body and his digital ghost. The production transforms the audience from mere spectators into active material, as the camera turns to film the watchers, projecting their silent presence into the heart of the monologue. The play follows the members of the "Fascist Democratic Party" as they embark on an insane plan to hold the corpse of Il Duce to ransom, in a desperate attempt to rekindle the spark of Fascism. As the comedy of errors unfolds the group descends further and further down the rabbit hole, and begins to devour itself from within. The play deals with many issues such as fanaticism, cults of personality and societies failings in closing our fascist pasts.

Bad Champagne by Jared Appleton is a two-couple chamber play that unfolds over the course of a single charged evening: a dinner between Morgan and his fiancée Maeby, and Morgan's ex-girlfriend Phoebe and her new partner Alby. The play is intimate in scale — four characters, a mirror, an armchair, a coffee table — but expansive in what it explores. Now Morgan is engaged to Maeby, a therapist, and Phoebe is with Alby, a self-made and self-satisfied entrepreneur. The dinner is Maeby's idea, framed as a gesture of closure and maturity. As the evening progresses, it becomes clear that everyone arrived with a private agenda.

Trapped together, the estranged brothers are forced to relive their shared past: a childhood marked by violence, illegitimacy, and the weight of their father’s theatrical legacy; a bitter rivalry forged onstage and off; and the ideological divide that changed the course of American history. As the past and present collide, Wilkes delights in dismantling Edwin’s legacy, while Edwin struggles to separate the brother he loved from the killer he became. Stunted captures the intimacy of shared space—and the courage it takes to finally step out of it. Christine Fang is a New York-based actor and playwright. Her first play, a solo show exploring themes of filial piety and bullying, was produced in association with East West Players and received its London premiere at the Barons Court Theatre as part of the Voila! Theatre Festival. Stunted marks her first two-hander and was developed with the support of Primary Stages in New York, an Off-Broadway company dedicated to inspiring and producing new work.

Part confessional story-telling, part seance, this dark comedy blends philosophical inquiry, theological absurdism and the theatricality of ritual.
