Set in the relentless world of a professional kitchen, Damascus captures the heat, speed, and brutality of service. Where rigid hierarchies rule, head chefs command with near-tyrannical authority, and the brigade works under punishing conditions to keep the plates moving. Through physical theatre and ensemble storytelling, Damascus explores the culture of the kitchen: the balance of power between ranks, the diverse workforce behind the stove, and the human cost of surviving the pass. Performing at Wac Arts 14th and 15th August, It is set to be Blackthorn Theatre’s most ambitious production to date, and the fourth original work from Company Directors Tom Levermore and Betsy Chadwick-Jones. Cant stand the heat? Stay out of the theatre.
