The brand new Theatre of Cowards debuts Sylvia Gardner’s fantastical satire of the corporate world: a phantasmagoric, absurd extravaganza of bastardised masculinity. Following Mister, Andrew, David, Frank, and Mark, ‘Dead Effing Rebels’ delves into every aspect of power and control, swaying between the backstage of a drag show and a sterile conference room, revolution and sadomasochism. As financial tensions come to a head, the company begins to sweat; professional, clown-white masks give way to contemporary insecurity. In line with the Cowards’ moniker, ‘the new art of the weird’, this show is born of transsexuality and amusement, a series of observations from a once-man exploring the many structures of masculinity; directed by Sylvia Gardner and assisted by Mika Trench, tech designed and operated by Bryony Curley, featuring Kian Standbridge, Ivy Harper, Rufus Brierley, Icarus Gilbert, and Ben Oliver.
