Mates is a fast-paced, meta-theatrical comedy about friendship, ambition, and creative chaos. Four old friends reunite to make a play together after years apart. The venue is booked. They’ve got the props. They even have major financial backing. All they need now is... well, the play. What begins as an exciting creative reunion quickly spirals into plays-within-plays-within-plays, exposing bruised egos, old tensions, and uncomfortable truths. At its heart, Mates explores the shifting dynamics of long-term friendship and the anxieties of getting older and realising you’re far away from where you'd dreamt you’d be. Sharp, surreal, and painfully relatable, it interrogates ego, masculinity, and the struggle to create something meaningful.
